Samsung Galaxy S9 at Mobile World Congress 2018
Samsung galaxy S9 is almost here. The company’s chief, DJ Koh, has just confirmed the launch of the handset to ZDNet at CES.
“DJ Koh, president of Samsung’s mobile business, said its first flagship smartphone of the year will be unveiled at the [Mobile World Congress] trade show in February with the sales date also announced at the event, at a press conference at CES in Las Vegas.”
The galaxy S9 will be launched at Mobile World Congress, which will be held next February 26th to March 1st. DJ Koh didn’t mention the exact launch date so we can expect to see the handset unveiled somewhere in that time frame.
Samsung is predicted to launch the Galaxy s9 as well as its bigger sibling, the Galaxy S9 Plus, at MWC next month. The Galaxy S9 is rumored to look near-identical to its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. Recent rumor suggests that the Galaxy S9 will have a vertically stacked camera lens and fingerprint sensor on the rear. Other rumor suggests that the phone will have a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom of the handset.
Meanwhile, speaking to ZD Net, DJ Koh also said that Samsung plans to launch a foldable phone in 2018. So, what does foldable phone means? No further detail regarding the foldable phone, but Samsung has a long obsession for having curved display smartphones.
Samsung’s Galaxy S9 is only a month away. The phone is expected to bring new exiting features with much better performance than its predecessor, the Galaxy S8. The Galaxy S9 will likely be the first smartphone from Samsung to offer 512 GB storage. I just can’t wait to get this phone. What about you?
